SUMMARY:LARC Announces Fore the Future Youth Golf Challenge
LOCATION:8851 Crown Colony Blvd. Fort Myer, FL 33908
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:LARC (Lee Association for Remarkable Citizens), a nonprofit organization th
at empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities th
rough vocational training, residential support, and inclusive community ser
vices, is proud to launch the Fore the Future Youth Golf Challenge—a one-of
-a-kind fundraising event just for kids and teens in grades 1–12. This exci
ting day of fun, mentorship, and prizes.
This is Southwest Florida’s
first youth golf fundraiser of its kind, created to bring together element
ary, middle, and high school students of all skill levels—from beginners to
future champions—for a meaningful cause. Golfers will participate in fun o
n-course challenges and enjoy an awards ceremony and great prizes.
“Wh
ether you’re new to golf or already mastering your swing, the LARC Youth Go
lf Challenge is your chance to be part of something meaningful,” said Angel
a Katz, LARC Executive Director. “By raising funds, kids are helping people
with intellectual and developmental disabilities learn life skills, find j
obs, and live more independently. They will also be role models—showing the
community the power of inclusion, kindness, and youth leadership. All skil
l levels are welcome, and it’s not just about winning—it’s about giving you
r best, having fun, and making a difference. So grab your clubs and join us
—you’ll be swinging for a cause that truly matters.”
To participate, e
ach golfer is asked to raise a minimum of $250, which directly supports LAR
C’s programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabiliti
es. The top three fundraisers receive amazing prizes and a hole-in-one cha
llenge will feature a magical Disney vacation for four.
Raising $250 i
s easier than you think! Kids can ask 10 people to donate $25 or 25 people
to give $10—or mix it up. Other creative ideas can be found on LARC’s websi
te www.larcleecounty.orgi including a Sponsor-Per-Hole Challenge, where fr
iends and family pledge a donation for each hole played (for example, $10 p
er hole for 9 holes = $90); a Collect Change Campaign, using a decorated ja
r to collect spare change; or asking for donations in lieu of birthday or h
oliday gifts. Participants can also raise funds by offering chore services—
like mowing lawns, raking leaves, walking dogs, or washing cars. With a par
ent’s help, kids can also post a short fundraising video on social media ex
plaining their goal and including a donation link.
Be part of somethin
g meaningful. Sign up, start fundraising, and swing FORE a more inclusive f
uture!
Businesses and community supporters are encouraged to amplify t
heir impact by sponsoring the Fore the Future Youth Golf Challenge. Sponsor
ship packages offer a range of promotional benefits—and more importantly, t
hey send a powerful message that our community values young people and embr
aces individuals of all abilities. By supporting this event, sponsors champ
ion inclusion, youth empowerment, and a stronger, more connected Southwest
Florida.
To register, become a sponsor, or learn more, visit www.larcl
eecounty.org/events/youthgolfchallenge.
Established in 1954, LARC is a
training center for success for individuals with intellectual and developm
ental disabilities. LARC serves more than 300 individuals annually, and pa
rticipants range from 14 to 83.
LARC offers life skills training, voc
ational training, youth programs, community employment services, and a vast
array of other state-of-the-art community inclusion services on a full-tim
