Safety Day 2026 promises to be both fun and educational, featuring appearances from local law enforcement and fire departments dedicated to keeping our community safe. Families can enjoy a wide array of activities, including bounce houses, a dunk tank, a photo booth, and an impressive SWAT truck on display. Attendees will also have the unique opportunity to tour a fire truck, ambulance, and even a helicopter.
One of the highlights of the day is the Charlotte County Dive Team Challenge, where visitors can watch live underwater footage of first responders in action. Hosted by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office on May 1–2, 2026, at Lake Babcock in Babcock Ranch, this two-day event brings together Fire/EMS and law enforcement dive teams from across the country. Teams compete in underwater obstacle courses and skill-based challenges, including navigation, recovery, and heavy-object lifting. A portion of event proceeds benefits the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, supporting programs for at-risk youth across the state.
Kids of all ages can participate in the Bike Rodeo, a hands-on event promoting bicycle safety. Participants will navigate obstacle courses, practice essential traffic safety rules, and learn essential biking skills like proper signaling and helmet fitting—building confidence and encouraging safe riding habits.
Throughout the day, attendees can collect challenge coins and enter to win bicycles in our exciting raffle. Admission is free, with plenty of opportunities to engage with local heroes and learn valuable safety tips. Join us for a day filled with fun, learning, and community spirit—and don’t forget to smile, a photographer/videographer will be capturing all the action!
